We were not able to secure recordings of all the songs in the Heritage Songbook project. But we have MIDI instrumental versions of everything — including even some songs, such as “Lindbergh (The Eagle of the USA)” which are not included in the songbook or on the web site. 86 files in all! In some cases, we have alternate versions as well.

You can download MIDI files of all songs in the Minnesota Heritage Songbook project by clicking here. You will need a program (such as QuickTime) that plays MIDI files. The files are in a ZIP archive, about 70K.

Note that the tunes here do not always exactly match those on the recordings. These are the “correct” tunes, but sometimes lose something due to being mechanical reproductions.
